The bigger question here is how many hours you should want to tap in a day. If, like you say, you're experiencing social anxiety and low self-esteem, locking yourself in a room for hours at a time will probably be counterproductive.

I'd say tap an hour a day on average (that could mean 2 hours some days, none on others), and spend the remainder of your time doing other things that might help your problems.

What do you mean by 'things that might help your problems'?

i respectfully disagree with the idea that being alone for a long time will "probably" make social anxiety worse if you are spending that time tapping.

i put probably in quotes because thats the part i think is untrue

however since the subcon is so tricky it COULD make it worse if you are convinced that you are being an anti-social person by simply wanting to take care of yourself. this can definitely happen, but as long as you watch for it it shouldn't be a problem and can always itself be tapped.

but yeah monkeydust is totally right in that it is how many you want to tap, follow your heart.

also michal i think monkeydust meant that if ,for example, you wanted to be in better shape that you go for a walk/run in addition to tapping on allowing yourself to be in better shape for example.

Well, let's say you have problems with social anxiety. Now I don't know how badly you have it, but perhaps you have trouble speaking to strangers, or people you don't know well.

Now one way to combat this is to tap these feelings, and tap any memories that give rise to them. That's true. But actually pushing yourself to overcome the boundaries works as well. You might start trying to make small talk at bus stops, for example. Or you might try and get a job which involves socializing with a lot of people you don't know.

You need both. Tap, go into the world and work on things, tap again, etc.

Think in more in terms of results not in "how many hours".
You will get much more results.
The real focus should be on how to get to the real core issues rather than on how many
issues I tap or how many hours.
Also combine it with Tat & other powerful techniques.

Regularly confronting yourself to the "real world" will allow you to bring into the light all the stuff you need to tap on, and also to test your work in real situations.

There must be a balance between working on ourselves, which requires some loneliness, and evolving in social situations.

I've been doing 30 minutes a day for over 2 weeks, only missing a few days.  Let us know how many you can get yourself doing.

OK, I will ask this question different way. Of course, I am not talking about not leaving house at all. Sometimes there are things to do outside.

I'd like to know if I can do for example 3 EFT sessions through the day. Each session abou 1,5-2 hour long.
I am asking because want to have results faster. I have doubts about this because I've read on a few EFT practitioners' websites offering the therapy that sessions are held once a week. Does this mean that doing it e.g. once a day is too often?

IMO, whatever you are comfortable with is what will work.

If you have the time to spend, and aren't interfering with other areas of your life, then tap away.  Wink

Michal:
You can do EFT exactly 3h per day with a tolerance of +-0.2h. If you exceed this, you will die.

Seriously. Listen to your body. Most people become distracted very soon. So this is the first limiting factor. Another one is procrastination to start again.

I highly doubt that you are above 20 years of age. Most people being younger than 20 yoa are distracted by anything. So this will be something you have to
work with.

Promise me something: When doing EFT, do not look at your watch or a clock in your room. At best get rid of them for the time doing eft.

Then listen to your body. Do it.

Well put. That said, at least half an hour would be a good start, although Magnus suggests two on average. Concentration will definitely be a problem in the beginning, but will very soon improve dramatically.

I highly recommend going to a populated area in order to 'tune into' your emotions of social anxiety then dealing with them on the spot.
