Fear of Working

I am a new tapper. Does anyone out there have this problem? I am afraid to go back to work because of fear that I will quit within a month like I did the last time due to emotional issues. I don't have confidence in myself that I will be responsible and stick with it. I didn't used to have this problem. Please help!!

It is difficult to know how to advise you without knowing more about your emotional issues. Since you say you didn't used to have this problem, I would ask you to think about when the problem first occurred. I you were to make a guess, what do you think caused the emotional turmoil? Did something occur in your life around that time? If you cannot guess, then "guess" what is the most likely thing, and tap around that.
I would suggest trying some of these:
"Even though I don't know exactly what caused these emotional problems...."
"Even though it is difficult for me to guess the problem...."
"Even though I have these emotional issues ..."
"Even though I think (name something) might be at the root of the problem .....
Please persevere and post again letting us know if any of these things helped, and what, if anything, you can come up with.
I'm rooting for you.

I don't know if I had the
same
issues you're having in getting back to work, but I spent 3 months watching my money fall away before I forced myself to get a job (out of desperation!!). I used tapping as a way to get short bursts of energy/confidence/etc when going to interviews, but to tell you the truth I have had a job now for about 3 1/2 months and I
still
am tapping away resistance to going back to work, almost on a daily basis. For me its not that I'm afraid I'll quit exactly, but that there's better and more exciting things out there to do with my time - although I guess in a backward way it sort of is about eliminating some of the feelings that would have me quit prematurely.
Guess the only advice I can offer is that you will
know
when you hit strong times of healing while tapping - the times that actually change you more than just charge you. Also, don't take the first job offered unless it is the right one - I am still learning from that mistake on a daily basis.

You could also tap on finding out what job would honestly give you joy and personal peace and more than enough money to get by on. If you need an interim job while you figure out what would really make you happy then you can tap on that, too so that you can find something that won't eat your soul in the meantime.
Keep us posted on how things go...
Namaste.

Two things come to mind here.
First thing is called Psychological reversal. That means that not all levels in us are cooperating, creating internal struggle and stopping us from doing and being what we want or need. The setup phrase "Even though I..." is the tool to smooth this out, but sometimes it isn't enough. The subconscious mind is tricksy and plays games on us. Gary, the founder of EFT, has one way of dealing with this, but a less complicated way is presented in one of his videos by another therapist. It doesn't have a name, to my knowing, so let's call it The Counter-clock.
Counter-clock recipe:
Imagine a clock of about 10-15 cm in diameter on your chest. The center of the clock is at the breast bone - the protruding piece of bone between the EFT collarbone point and the solar plexus. The clock hangs there for everyone to see, and you tap counter clock-wise for about 30 seconds while just self-talking about the problem. Tap quite fast and about 15-20 taps per circling.
I found this technique useful in very many ways as it's less attention-drawing than outright EFT, it's faster and one may do it as a set-up period before dealing headlong when reversal seems to hinder the EFT process. It doesn't eliminate the need for EFT, though, it's a complementary thing. It seems to tire the subconscious to the limit where the reversals are gone for longer and longer periods, leaving room for successful EFTing.
One other way to find the things that block us, is to use affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements and in this case one might be "I have a good job that I am very comfortable with." Saying this might feel dishonest in some way and elicit negative feelings and/or thoughts like "yes, but...". This is an extremely useful side of affirmations, because the negative feelings and the "yes, but..."s are your stumbling blocks that you may tap on.

Hi Sunny,
You may want to tap on the conflicted part of yourself,
Even though:
there is a part of me that doesn't want to work because I feel fear about going to work, and I deeply and completely love and accept that part of myself
there is another part of me that feels a need to work...
After doing a few rounds of tapping, ask yourself,
What is holding me back from working?
Then take whatever information you get and tap on that.
Good fortune.
