You can get a free booklet on TAT right here:
http://www.tatlife.com/
Basically, pinch the top of the bridge of your nose between your thumb and fourth finger, put them right up in the corner of your eye socket (not in an uncomfortable way). Then put your middle finger directly between your eyebrows. Put the palm of your other hand on the back of your head just where the skull starts to curve inwards.
Now find negative feelings, and allow your mind to wander. The booklet gives various statements to help guide your attention.
UPDATE: I produced a quick video (actually for a friend of mine in Iraq) that clearly shows how to do the Tapas pose.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=KRXdQNA3aEk
You can use this in conjunction with Tapping - it's particularly good for clearing memories.

This is a very powerful technique and perfectly complements EFT.
It is often used first, before Tapping, especially if the client has a lot of aspects or intense issue. it helps bring all the aspects down without targetting them each specifically. From there it is much easier and effective to continue with tapping.

Has anybody tried imagining "The Pose" and had results? I'll give it a try.
What about use the technique for other people through intention? I'm talking about getting into a meditative state, floating your consciousness outside of yourself and into another person and imagine the pose? In hypnosis, this is "Deep Trance Identification"

So, I watched part of the TAT video on emotional baggage release. This technology seems AWESOME as in a single round of TAT, you can clear out ALL aspects as well as origins of a fear/imbalance.
A part of me hopes that this technique doesn't put tapping to shame... but another part of me hopes that this is a shortcut that cuts through so much aspects.
Ben, what's the purpose of tapping after using TAT? Is tapping used once the 20 minute "limit" for TAT has been used up? If you could elaborate on the combined use of these techniques, that would be great!

Hi Craig,
In short, TAT works really well globally, EFT (tapping) works really well with the nitty gritty.
Of course there are many cases when TAT deals and eliminates all aspects, but just like EFT doesn't always work as a one minute wonder, TAT may not either. That is not to say TAT cant eliminate all aspects, especially in the hands of a skillful user. But because of EFT's investigative nature, it has an uncanny ability to identify and unearth aspects however they manifest whether physically, emotionally or metaphorically.
TAT is great if your dealing with someone who you can tell will really hit 11 on the SUDS or may have an abreaction. if there are many aspects to it like fear, anger, shame which usually all need to be dealt with separately, TAT provides a mechanism for dealing with them all, bringing the SUDS right down. From there it is possible to investigate any remaining aspects using EFT and deal with those separately.
Jacqui Crooks, who taught me professionally, almost always instinctively begins with a 10 minute TAT session before continuing on with EFT.

I'd read about TAT but never tried it until last night on a general area of stuck energy. There seemed to be quite a shift so I'll definitely try again. Babs

I've just gotten into TAT and Tick Tock Meditation. They are both excellent - like machine guns, and tapping is like a sniper rifle. I will now use them both in conjunction.
What I do is bring up the negative feeling while doing the pose or listening to the tick tock mp3. Then I try to hold that feeling while the mp3 or pose destroys it.

I find it really difficult to think about anything other than words in the TAT pose...and even those need to be forced. It's like my mind goes blank. Anyone else experience this?

1. I have tried to use TAT but cannot be bothered with following all the steps in the manual. Is it enough to just use the pose and focus on the problem?
2. Has anyone else started crying when doing TAT? Just ten or so tears came, not sure if had to do with me focusing on a specific memory, or just putting some physical pressure near my eyes.

Yup. Just seek out the negative feelings and focus on them until they release. Then look for positive feelings - and any negative feelings stopping those come up will peel away).
It's important to understand the full TAT steps though, they are very insightful.

Yup, totally normal.

Try holding the TAT pose while slowly doing the Sedona Method (
http://www.sedona.com/html/Sample-Of-Process.aspx
) . It helps me. Hopefully it will help some of you.

Thanks for this forum everybody...cool job Magnus!!
Do I have to do the full TAT 9 steps though, or Ben's 7 steps?
All that in 4 minutes?
Or is good just the short Magnus's version?

Try and see which one works best for you. they are all very effective.
there is nothing to loose (except that negative emotion) and you don't have to limit yourself to just 4 minutes. just do each step until you feel done.
Have fun
